Africa-Press – Kenya. KCB captain Michael Mutinda has been ruled out of this weekend’s Mozzart Cup quarterfinal match against Tusker with a knee injury. The skipper hurt his knee on Wednesday in the banker’s 1-0 loss against title-chasing Tusker at Ruaraka grounds. Winger Michael Oduor scored the all-important goal to haunt his former side.
“It is a big blow to lose such a key player. We are crossing our fingers and hoping it is not as bad as it initially looked,” Kcb assistant coach Godfrey Oduor said.
He added: “Regardless of that, we have an incredible pool of talent that we can rely on. The other players are equal to the task and will definitely step up to feel the gap.” According to Oduor, the bankers are back to the drawing board following the loss.
“We are now focusing on the Mozzart Cup quarterfinals against the same opponent. We know what we need to do. We are going back to the drawing board to make amends for our mistakes.
“The league is still far from over so we will continue working hard and going after three points in every match that comes forth.”
