Africa-Press – Kenya. Governor Joseph Lenku has, for the umpteenth time, reshuffled his cabinet and returned his blue-eyed boys to crucial departments in finance, lands and education.
Lenku dropped Michael Semera from the crucial finance, economic planning and ICT department and replaced him with Alais Kisota. Semera, a trained banker and former Equity Bank manager, was dropped from the crucial docket after less than three years after he had replaced Kisota.
The governor at the same time retained his lands, physical planning, urban development, housing and municipalities minister, Hamilton Parseina, who has remained in the position ever since Lenku took office in 2017.
Education, Vocational Training, Youth and Sports minister, Jeremiah Ole Ncharo, who has been severally fought by MCAs for allegedly removing them from the management of ward bursary funds, has also been retained by Lenku.
The county minister for Medical Services and Public Health, Alex Kilowua, was also retained in the reshuffle that saw the powerful county minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation, Jackline Koin being sent to Trade, Investments and Enterprise Development department.
The newly appointed CEC Member Jackton Achola, took over from Koin in the Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation department. Lenku appointed Judy Pere to Public Service, Administration, Social Services, Citizen Participation and Inspectorate Services CECM, after she was vetted by the county assembly last week.
Dr Leina Mpoke retained his position as CEC Member for Water, Environment and Natural Resources as the newly appointed CEC Member, Janet Sereu took over Gender, Culture, Cooperatives, Tourism and Wildlife. Francis Sakuda retained his County Secretary docket along with the County Attorney, Augustine Sekeyian.
