Africa-Press – Kenya. Champions National Produce and Cereals Board blanked Spartan 41-10 in a Kenya Handball Federation league tie at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

The millers led 19-5 at half time and had 10 goals from Timothy Kirimi and six from Nicholas Okore.

NCPB made it two wins in two days after shaking off a stubborn Kenyatta University (KU) side to win 29-23 in a tight duel.

“We haven’t played for like a month and my boys are just getting back to match fitness after the break,” said NCPB coach Dan Eshikumo. “We just wanted a win and it’s good for us as we continue to work our way up.”

KU lost 26-22 to second-placed Ulinzi, who had five goals from Kevin Imo.

Technical University Kenya (TUK) hit Desert Scorpions 31-27 for their wonky win of the season.

Women champions Nairobi Water Queens blanked KU 33-13 as Brenda Ariviza bagged eight goals, Gladys Chilo and Merina Andala five each.

On Saturday, they had drowned Rising Star 58-10.

“Teams are tight in this league and we have to score as many goals as possible since this will prove vital at the tail end,” said Queens coach Jack Ochieng .

Ulinzi Sharks ripped Nairobi City County (NCC) apart in a 45-7. The soldiers, who had nine goals from Marjorie Okwakau and Sharon Mulei.

Sharks had 22 points from Sarah Wasike as they slammed Amazon 42-9 in their other show. Third placed NCPB also had it easy harvesting maximum points with a 58-13 demolition of Rising Star. The previous day they rampaged to a 51-9 win over Nairobi City County (NCC).
