Ruto Backs NG-CDF as Key to Expanding Education Infrastructure

Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto has reaffirmed his strong support for the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

Speaking at Yussuf Haji Girls Secondary School when he commissioned it, Ruto said the fund remains one of the most effective tools for expanding education infrastructure across the country.

The President said the fund has transformed learning facilities for children in every part of the country.

“I am a great supporter of the national government constituency development fund because it is the fund that has made a difference in providing education infrastructure and facilities for both our children in every part of our country,” Ruto said.

He urged for continued partnership between the government and well-wishers to uplift education standards, noting that the government alone cannot do it.

“It is not possible for the government to do it alone. That is why I want, in a very special way, to thank all well-wishers, friends, and everyone else who generously help in uplifting education in one way or another,” he said.

He singled out the late Senator Yssuf Haji and praised him for the immense role he played in uplifting the education standards.

“I want to thank the late Mzee Mohamed Yussuf Haji for the immense role he played in uplifting the education standards. I am among the many friends that he invited to contribute towards this school’s construction,” Ruto said.

“I am happy to see that the contribution we made has gone a long way in the construction of this school and in uplifting the education standards of Northern Kenya, including our girls.”

President Ruto emphasised that Kenya’s journey toward becoming a first-world country depends on developing high-quality human capital — a process that starts in schools, colleges, and universities.

“Among the things we must prioritise as a nation is developing human capital by ensuring that our men and women gain the highest possible skills in science, STEM subjects, research, and development,” he said. That is how we are going to use that resource to develop our nation,” he said.

The President also highlighted his administration’s increased investment in the education sector, noting that the national allocation has risen from Sh500 billion to Sh700 billion in the recent budget.

He reiterated that such investments, coupled with NG-CDF and community support, will continue to drive the country toward equitable access to quality education.
