{"id":100037,"date":"2023-08-08T19:39:15","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T19:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/kioni-to-lead-azimios-legal-team-during-bipartisan-talks"},"modified":"2023-08-08T19:45:34","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T19:45:34","slug":"kioni-to-lead-azimios-legal-team-during-bipartisan-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/kioni-to-lead-azimios-legal-team-during-bipartisan-talks","title":{"rendered":"Kioni to lead Azimio&#8217;s legal team during bipartisan talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio la Umoja Coalition has appointed embattled Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni as head of the Legal and Technical team of the bipartisan talks.<\/p>\n<p>The coalition has also appointed Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi as deputy chairperson and spokesperson of the Azimio team<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Tuesday, Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has tasked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kioni to approach the talks with courage and open minds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It requires both courage and open-mindedness to find common ground in times of conflict,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Azimio delegation team is led by Kalonzo, Wandayi, Eugene Wamalwa, Okong&#8217;o Omogeni and Malindi MP Amina Mnyanzi.<\/p>\n<p>They will join the Kenya Kwanza team on talks led by National Assembly Kimani Ichung&#8217;wah, Aaron Cheruiyot (Senate Majority Leader), Embu Governor Cecile Mbaririe, Hassan Omar ( EALA MP) and Bungoma Woman rep Catherine Wambilinga.<\/p>\n<p>Raila said that the choice of the Azimio team underscores their recognition of the significance of these talks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team was assembled with a profound understanding that our nation is on an improper trajectory.
