Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto on Thursday landed in Maputo, Mozambique a few minutes after 12 pm.<\/p>\n

He was received by Vero\u0301nica Nataniel Macamo Dlhovo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique.<\/p>\n

Ruto will hold discussions with his Mozambique counterpart Filipe Nyusi during the two-day visit.<\/p>\n

The visit will mark the launch of the Kenya-Mozambique Joint Trade Committee ( JTC).<\/p>\n

“The two will focus on key sectors, including the Blue Economy and Fisheries, Trade, Defence, Agriculture, Energy, Transport and capacity building,” State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Also during the visit, Ruto and Nyusi will oversee the signing of 8 cooperation agreements, solidifying the two countries shared commitment to collaboration.<\/p>\n

“This will also strengthen cooperation along the realm of the Indian – Swahili coast,” Hussein’s statement reads in part.<\/p>\n

The visit will also provide momentum for the Kenya-Mozambique Business Forum, which will explore mutual economic opportunities.<\/p>\n
