Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto will today grace the cash award ceremony to honour athletes who represented the country in the World Athletic Championship in Budapest.<\/p>\n

Various athletes will be honoured including gold winner Faith Kipyegon who set the bars high by securing two gold medals.<\/p>\n

Kipyegon’s two golds from Budapest capped a remarkable season in which she broke three world records – in the 1,500m, mile and 5,000m.<\/p>\n

“This has been an amazing year for me. Making history today, winning two gold medals in a championship is what I was dreaming for this season,” the 29-year-old said.<\/p>\n

Other athletes who will be honoured include Mary Moraa who also secured gold in the 800-meter race and silver winner Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Beatrice Chepkoech and Daniel Simiyu.<\/p>\n

Bronze winners Faith Cherotich, Beatrice Chebet, Jacob Krop and Abraham Kibiwott will also be honoured.<\/p>\n

The event is also set to be the official unveiling of The Talanta Plaza.<\/p>\n
