Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>SasaPay, a Pan-African payments acceptance solution has appointed Daniel Njoroge Kiriungi as chief operating officer and Deputy CEO, effective immediately.<\/p>\n

He is an experienced executive with a 15-year track record in the technology sector particularly in Africa.<\/p>\n

He joins SasaPay following a successful career at a number of leading technology-focused, disruptive brands, bringing with him a wealth of industry experience and knowledge.<\/p>\n

He most recently served as the director of Sales Network for global payments company Interswitch, where he successfully led the company’s penetration and growth into the Kenyan market.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strongly believe Daniel is the right captain for the next stage of transformation and growth of SasaPay. We are confident that his passion for innovation and sustainability, coupled with his experience in the payments sector will enable us to unlock and create new opportunities for growth,\u201d the board said in a statement.<\/p>\n

His appointment comes as the company re-focuses its strategic plan to empower millions of businesses in the country by leveraging technology to make payments more accessible, affordable and profitable.<\/p>\n

Njoroge said that he is hugely excited to be joining the SasaPay team.<\/p>\n

“The business has demonstrated real potential to be a valuable, disruptive force in the financial services sector and I am looking forward to leading the business and ensuring we deliver a positive impact for our customers,” he said.<\/p>\n

The firm has in recent times embarked on business collaborations to expand its clientele.<\/p>\n

Early this year, it partnered with Oma services on electric buses to offer passengers a more convenient payment method as the parties aim to promote the use of the vehicles while simplifying the payment process.<\/p>\n

The firm is also powering Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) payments, enabling business-to-customer (B2C)payments, utility payments, and government payments among others.<\/p>\n

The move is aimed at bringing a seamless, secure, and safe process for making payments while also greatly contributing to a cashless ecosystem for PCK.<\/p>\n

SasaPay seeks to provide a single window platform in support of Fintechs which is also in line with the National Payments Strategy 2022-2025 (NPS).<\/p>\n
