Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto on Wednesday held talks with Portugal’s President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.<\/p>\n

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.<\/p>\n

Ruto said Kenya will deepen bilateral relations with Portugal to unlock opportunities in areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n

He added that Portugal’s technical support will boost Kenya’s textile industry, machinery and appliances, agro-processing, and value-addition capabilities, creating wealth for the people.<\/p>\n

World leaders have gathered for the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).<\/p>\n

The high-level talks are scheduled for September 19 to 23 and September 26 at the UN Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n

It provides the leaders and heads of state the opportunity to lay out their priorities for the coming year, urge cooperation on pressing issues, and call out their adversaries.<\/p>\n

The general debate will be under the theme ‘Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all.’<\/p>\n
