Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Chief Justice Martha Koome has hinted at working with Law Africa to publish judiciary reports.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Koome met representatives of Law Africa Publishers at the Supreme Court on Thursday afternoon to discuss ways to deepen judiciary collaboration with Law Africa.<\/p>\n

“I see this as an opportunity for the Judiciary partnering with Law Africa to publish several of the Judiciary\u2019s reports, which are important tools for accountability, transparency and public participation in the administration of justice,” Koome said.<\/p>\n

The CJ commended Law Africa for its published number of Kenyan authors including judges, and expressed her wish to get more judges and judicial officers to publish their judicial experiences under co-ordination by the Kenya Judiciary Academy.<\/p>\n

“Past publications have given local jurisprudence prominence and are an avenue for exporting Kenyan legal thought and jurisprudence to other jurisdictions,” she said.<\/p>\n

The CJ emphasised the need for the judiciary to increase the number of reference materials by publishing bench books and other local content on judicial processes and procedures.<\/p>\n

Koome also received copies of the 3rd edition of Odunga\u2019s Digest on Civil Cases Law and Procedure (by Justice George Odunga) and volumes of the East African Law Reports.<\/p>\n
