Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Trade CS Moses Kuria on Thursday walked down memory lane of his close ties with the Odinga family that date back many years ago.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Siaya, Kuria said Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s father Oginga Odinga saved him from being kicked out of the University of Nairobi.<\/p>\n

“As I stand here as trade CS, I remember the journey of myself, my brother Governor James Orengo and Senator Oburu Odinga have come from, on January 20, 1994, we were here a whole 29 years to bury Jaramogi Oginga Odinga,” he said.<\/p>\n

“A man who instructed Otieno Kajwang to represent me in court and get an injunction that stopped me from being expelled from UoN.”<\/p>\n

Kuria continued narrating that there was a time he attended an event in Kisumu in which Senator Oburu was present.<\/p>\n

During the event in Kisumu, teargas were thrown and he and Oburu were whisked away to safety.<\/p>\n

He added that after the rescue, they went to Raila’s Opoda farm where they enjoyed a meal.<\/p>\n

“Raila prepared for us the best chicken I have ever tasted in this side of the World,” he said.<\/p>\n

While reacting to Kuria’s sentiment, former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando narrated a similar incident<\/p>\n

Kabando said he gives Raila credit for saving SONU’92 cabinet from UoN expulsion.<\/p>\n

“That Saturday we met him at Agip House, he also gave us Sh400 for lunch, and instructed Kajwang’ aka ‘Mapambano’; two years pro Bono,” he said.<\/p>\n

CS Kuria spoke during the launch of Siaya County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP).<\/p>\n

He urged all elected leaders to focus on development despite political affiliation.<\/p>\n

“There is no election this year or the coming year so can’t we keep ourselves busy by focusing on development and then when the next election comes we decide now tea time is over we go back to those other things,” he said.<\/p>\n

He said that development has no boundaries and that the government will continue developing all parts of this country equally.<\/p>\n
