Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama has threatened to present a motion to remove Moses Wetang\u2019ula as Speaker of the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

Wanyama claims the Speaker is using his Ford Kenya party to discriminate against UDA MCAs in the Bungoma county assembly.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Wetang\u2019ula doesn\u2019t want to work with us then I will also present a motion of removing him from office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Addressing the press in Bungoma on Monday, the lawmaker said Wetang\u2019ula became the National Assembly Speaker courtesy of the UDA Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n

He urged him to cooperate and work with all leaders in the Kenya Kwanza coalition.<\/p>\n

Wanyama noted that there are allegations of Ford Kenya leadership threatening to remove UDA MCAs at Bungoma county assembly from the committees they belong to.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UDA leadership has received reports that Ford Kenya has planned to remove UDA MCAs at Bungoma county assembly whenever they would be seen attending to UDA meetings,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have all the information that UDA MCAs in Bungoma county assembly have been threatened to be removed from the house committees if they are spotted in UDA forums,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The second-term MP trashed Ford Kenya\u2019s move calling on the MCAs to support and grow their party.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe discrimination that MCAs are facing at Bungoma county assembly must end. If Wetang\u2019ula doesn\u2019t want to work with us I will also rally UDA MPs they remove him as the Speaker,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The UDA MP called on the Western region to ignore ANC and Ford Kenya unity call and instead merge parties and make UDA stronger.<\/p>\n

Wanyama\u2019s sentiments were echoed by his Mt Elgon counterpart Fred Kapondi, who asked Ford Kenya and ANC parties to stop disrespecting UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala.<\/p>\n

\u201cUDA party cuts across tribal barriers. Our ANC and Ford Kenya parties should respect our able secretary general,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
