Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Archbishop Jackson Ole sapit of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) on Wednesday responded to the allegations made against him by the Kikuyu MP and National Assembly leader of majority Kimani Ichung\u2019wah.<\/p>\n

Ichung’wah had lashed out at him accusing him of being an Azimio supporter who has intentionally refused to see good things the government has done.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Citizen TV’s JKL live show on Wednesday, Bishop Sapit stated that he is not aligned with any political function and has never campaigned for any Azimio candidate as alleged by Ichung\u2019wah.<\/p>\n

“We as the church should never be intimidated by the sentiments that are being said. I go across the country to dioceses and I know what Kenyans are going through,” he said.<\/p>\n

Sapit said he speaks from first-hand information because he is also at the grassroots and understands the issues facing Kenyans.<\/p>\n

He referred to his sentiments on September 28, 2023, where he said Kenyans are struggling with the high cost of living.<\/p>\n

“We believe that the government will appreciate that Kenyan citizens are already stretched to their limits and economic development cannot rely on taxation as its source of revenue,” Sapit said.<\/p>\n

Sapit accused the government of failing to live within its means making it difficult for investors to establish their businesses in the country.<\/p>\n

On October 1, 2023, in a church service at Ainamoi constituency, Ichung’wah slammed Sapit for biased opinion.<\/p>\n

“I listened to Ole Sapit when he said that our work is rhetoric and I want to say that whenever we listen to him we just see the person he had campaigned for,” Ichung’wah said.<\/p>\n

“Don’t insult the government because you don’t know those who are responsible for bringing our country to its knees are your Azimio friends you supported during elections,” he added.<\/p>\n
