Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya has called for dialogue, negotiation and diplomacy as the only way to resolve the ongoing conflict in Israel.<\/p>\n

The PS State Department of Foreign Affairs Korir Singoei in a statement on Saturday condemned what he termed as an unprovoked attack by Hamas militants on the people of Israel.<\/p>\n

He said the violence has not only disrupted the fragile peace in the Middle East but also poses a significant threat to global peace and security.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe firmly support international efforts aimed at achieving a lasting and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and we call on all parties involved to immediately cease hostilities, exercise restraint and seek a negotiated agreement,\u201d Singoei said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is only through peaceful dialogue that a lasting and equitable solution can be reached, one that ensures the rights and aspirations of all parties are respected,\u201d the PS added.<\/p>\n

Singoei said the attacks had caused senseless loss of lives with innocent civilians on both sides bearing the brunt of the conflict.<\/p>\n

He noted that the disregard for human life displayed by the attackers is deeply troubling and an affront to the values that underpin shared humanity.<\/p>\n

Singoei said the development witnessed in Israel underscores the urgent need for the international community to redouble its efforts to find a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the conflict.<\/p>\n

He further noted that the continued escalation of violence in the region not only destabilises the Middle East but its implications reverberate in several regions in form of intolerance, destabalisation and threats of terrorism.<\/p>\n

\u201cKenya urges the United Nations, the Quartet on the Middle East and all relevant stakeholders to intensify their diplomatic efforts to facilitate a peaceful resolution,\u201d Singoei said.<\/p>\n

Israel Ambassador to Kenya Michael Lotem on Saturday said he is confident that his country will triumph after Hamas terrorists launched a surprise attack from the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Nearly 300 people were wounded in the widespread rocket attack and infiltrations by the Gaza-based terror group.<\/p>\n

In addition, at least six people have been confirmed killed in the attack.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019More than 5,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza. There are many casualties and our army has started an attack to eliminate those who penetrated Israel,\u2019\u2019 Lotem told the Star on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He called on Israel’s allies including Kenya to join the EU in condemning the acts of terror by the Hamas terrorists.<\/p>\n
