Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Opposition Chief Raila Odinga will be heading to Homa Bay county as the government leads national tree planting exercise countrywide.<\/p>\n

Raila’s ODM Party will be in Gladys Wanga led-county to recruit people to register with it.<\/p>\n

“Join us today in Mbita township, Homabay County as we increase our numbers. The exercise will be presided over by our Party Leader HE Raila Odinga,” reads a statement by ODM on Monday.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Raila led the ODM party in Siaya where the recruitment exercise was conducted.<\/p>\n

“The strength of a political party is determined by genuine men and women who believe in its ideology and values,” the ODM party said.<\/p>\n

At the moment, ODM currently has 8.2 million members and targeting to hit 15 million by 2025.<\/p>\n

According to Raila, the registration exercise will culminate in grassroots elections in March 2024 and subsequently the national elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to convey greetings to all our members across the country, we are approaching the end of the year and we have decided that this time we are going to launch the recruitment of new members,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The exercise according to the Opposition leader is set to be concluded before March.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will elect officials from the smallest unit which is the polling station then we go to the wards, subcounty and finally the county,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The elections will lead to the National Delegates Convention where the members are set to elect its national officials.<\/p>\n

Registration is also set to be conducted online.<\/p>\n
