Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto in his quest to solve unemployment has said the country is looking into sending at least 5,000 Kenyans weekly to work internationally.<\/p>\n

The head of state said, together with Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore, the country will sign a bilateral labour agreement to export Kenyans to work abroad.<\/p>\n

“Kila wiki, tunataka kutuma karibu watu 3,000 ama 5,000 waende wafanye kazi duniani kote ndio waweze kutuletea pesa, wajisimamie, na pia tuweze kubadilisha Kenya mzima,” he said.<\/p>\n

This is loosely translated to: We want to send 3,000 or 5,000 Kenyans abroad weekly. This way, they’ll be able to send money home, be able to depend on themselves and also contribute towards the betterment of the country.<\/p>\n

Ruto added that with the trips he is making, he has been able to work around and discuss how Kenyans can benefit and work abroad.<\/p>\n

“When I go for foreign trips, I don’t go for the purpose of tourism but for the benefit of Kenyans, as that is why I was elected,” he noted, adding that he’ll be leaving the country tonight for an official visit to Germany.<\/p>\n

“Here, we will put common user facilities which are; Agroporcessing, value addition, and manufacturing to enhance employment in the county.”<\/p>\n

Ruto spoke during a church service in Sotik, Bomet County.<\/p>\n
