Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio la Umoja Coalition Leader Raila Odinga has called for the immediate resignation of two cabinet secretaries.<\/p>\n

Raila On Monday said that Energy CS Davis Chirchir and Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u needed to resign over the Sh17 billion oil deal.<\/p>\n

According to Raila, the two have committed criminal offences.<\/p>\n

“CSs Davis Chirchir and Njuguna Ndung’u have gone against the constitution, committed criminal offences, and abused office. They must not only resign but also be prosecuted,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Also, the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum must make public the Supplier Purchase Agreement signed with the oil companies,” Raila said.<\/p>\n

The Azimio leader alleged that the government-to-government deal was a corruption scandal hatched to withdraw money from the exchequer against the law.<\/p>\n

In addition, Raila accused President William Ruto led government of telling many fictitious stories on the issues<\/p>\n

“We challenge the government to share evidence of the oil payments and show documents indicating when they were made, as well as bank accounts and recipients,” he said.<\/p>\n

Raila also calls for investigations on the violation of consumer rights, transparency of fuel contracts, criminal collusion through price fixing in the alleged G-to-G oil arrangement.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah weighed in on the Sh17 billion oil saga and asked two cabinet secretaries to explain to Kenyans the real story behind the issue.<\/p>\n

The legislator wants Murkomen and Chirchir to come out and tell the truth about what they know.<\/p>\n

The Sh17 billion saga involves businesswoman Ann Njeri Njoroge who claimed that the government irregularly stole her oil that was destined for Kenya.<\/p>\n

She argued that she was allegedly detained by state detectives as the government emptied a ship that was carrying the oil at the Port of Mombasa.<\/p>\n

However, Omtatah claimed that there is more than meets the eye and that the two CSs could know quite a lot of information on the issue that they are hiding from Kenyans.<\/p>\n
