Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka has insisted that former President Uhuru Kenyatta is not the reason Kenya is in the current economic mess.<\/p>\n

According to Onyonka, the country is currently dealing with issues that need seriousness and not just blame games.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Citizen TV, the Senator said that while the former president is not the reason for Kenya’s troubles, the current President, William Ruto was Uhuru’s deputy during their tenure.<\/p>\n

He said it was sad to see some of his colleague legislators blaming it all on Uhuru.<\/p>\n

The Senator, however, noted that the former President should keep off from making political statements.<\/p>\n

“We are engaged in throwing tantrums at Uhuru Kenyatta… If he decides to stay in Azimio that’s his problem but this notion that every weekend the story is about him must stop. You see facts are sanitized. Who was Uhuru’s deputy? It was President William Ruto,” Onyonka said.<\/p>\n

“I would like Uhuru to keep quiet, sit down and retire peacefully but the reality is that Uhuru cannot be the reason why our country is in the mess it is in.”<\/p>\n

He said Uhuru’s statements are powerful because of the office he formerly held and can have a political impact.<\/p>\n

Onyonka also urged Kenya Kwanza politicians to stop with their unending blame games.<\/p>\n

He added that many leaders from all sides of the political divide have greatly contributed to bringing the country where it is today.<\/p>\n

“Uhuru needs to know what he says is weighty because he is a former president and has a following but I also would like to tell my brothers on the other side, to stop beating a dead horse,” the Kisii Senator added.<\/p>\n

“There are many of us in Kenya Kwanza and Azimio who have participated in getting our country where it is today. This blame game has to reach a point where it stops. Imagine if current governors blamed their predecessors for certain failures the country would be ungovernable.”<\/p>\n
