Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has asked the opposition to be objective in their criticism of President William Ruto’s government.<\/p>\n

The Speaker said the Constitution provides for an architecture of governance that ensures checks and balances but challenged the Raila Odinga-led Azimio to be constructive.<\/p>\n

“Let our brothers in the opposition be constructive in the correction and criticism of government so that as a country we can move forward,” he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a Christmas mass at Mukhweya Parish Catholic Church on Monday, Wetang’ula also asked Kenyans to pray for their national leaders.”Pray for the president, his deputy and I so that we deal with the challenges facing Kenyans,” he said.<\/p>\n

He said positive criticism will be critical for the country’s unity and stability in the new year 2024.<\/p>\n

Wetang’ula said the president has good plans to deal with the challenges facing the country including addressing the cost of living.<\/p>\n

He said the government has promised to ensure that the distribution of subsidised fertiliser is enhanced to the lowest levels at the grassroots to enable farmers to access the input.<\/p>\n

“As we aim to ease agricultural discomfort for our farmers and tackle challenges collectively the government has pledged to avail subsidized fertilizer at the Sub County headquarters to enable easy access by farmers for the sake of improving food production,” he said.<\/p>\n
