Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga now says the Kenya Kwanza regime led by President William Ruto has become a curse upon the country.<\/p>\n

In his end-of-year statement, Raila said that next year, Kenyans should be ready to stand against the current regime.<\/p>\n

“The Kenya Kwanza regime has become a curse upon the nation. Let us join hands and stop this regime from ruining our beloved land and our pride and dignity as citizens,” he said.<\/p>\n

The opposition leader said that in 2024, they will organise with the support of like-minded Kenyans to stop the oppression and exploitation by the Ruto administration.<\/p>\n

“We shall exercise our sovereign power of the people to stop their death and suffering and restore our dignity and wellbeing,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We shall work with all people of goodwill to restore hope and faith in our nation. We are willing to build a coalition of citizens who are willing to plan, mobilise, and organise effectively to reclaim and take back our nation.”<\/p>\n

Raila insisted that when that time comes, he expects all Kenyans to set aside their differences and engage in actions to restore dignity to the livelihoods of Kenyans.<\/p>\n

This comes a few hours after he announced that next year, the Opposition will resume countrywide anti-government protests.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Bondo on Saturday, Raila said the Finance Act is the main reason behind the worsening cost of living affecting majority of Kenyans.<\/p>\n

\u201cTunasema mwaka mpya hii sheria ya kodi mpaka itolewe, hiyo Finance Bill mpaka itolewe, wasipotoa hiyo Finance Bill tutarudi kwenye uwanja,\u201d Raila said.<\/p>\n

(We have said come new year, the new tax law must be removed, the Finance Act must be removed; if they don’t, we will go back.).<\/p>\n

The former Prime Minister accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of making false pre-campaign promises to lower the cost of living immediately after they assumed office.<\/p>\n

He said the pledges were empty rhetoric to woo voters into voting for a government that has turned a deaf year to their plight and suffering.<\/p>\n
