Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The Public Service Commission on Tuesday released a list of 8,610 appointed Kenyans to serve in various departments under its Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP).<\/p>\n

The interns are the sixth cohort to be appointed to the programme.<\/p>\n

The commission said Kenyans can check the list on its website and the PSC job portal here.<\/p>\n

The interns will be paid a stipend at a rate determined by the government.<\/p>\n

The Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) is a government youth empowerment programme whose main objective is to offer college graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build skills in order to enhance their chances for employment, networking, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

PSC had in August extended the application period for the recruitment of over 8,000 interns to government ministries, departments, and agencies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe duration of the internship is 12 months, non-renewable,\u201d read the advertisement.<\/p>\n

For an appointment to an internship position, the commission noted that a candidate must meet several requirements.<\/p>\n

He or she must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university.<\/p>\n

The candidate must have graduated no earlier than the year 2017 and be proficient in computer skills.<\/p>\n

They are expected to complete duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by the supervisors.<\/p>\n

He or she will also document relevant skills acquired in their areas of deployment.<\/p>\n

In addition, they will actively participate in any relevant mentorship activities and additional responsibilities designed for the programme.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn successful completion of the internship programme, the interns will be awarded a certificate,\u201d reads the advertisement.<\/p>\n
