Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Barther Omata and Janet Moraa have left Women’s Premier League champions Vihiga Queens for greener pastures abroad.<\/p>\n

Omata joins Indian Women’s League side Sethu FC while Moraa is now in the books of Tanzanian giants Yanga Princess.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Star on the phone, Vihiga Queens’ head Coach Boniface Nyamyunyamu said: \u201cWe have already released the two players to join their news teams. We will build others to replace them. That’s what we do.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are like a stepping stone for our girls. When someone gets an opportunity for greener pastures, we have to accept and give them that chance to try their luck,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Others who have left Queens for foreign leagues in the recent past include former skipper Enez Mango, Lilian Awour (goalkeeper), Jentrix Shikangwa (striker) and Teresa Engesha.<\/p>\n

Queens trained at Kidundu Stadium on Friday in preparation for the return of the national women’s league, where they face Wadadia Ladies at Moi Stadium in Kisumu this weekend.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Irin Madalin is set to leave Bunyore Starlets for Yanga Princess of Tanzania.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in the process of recruiting new strikers following Madalin’s departure. Sadly, we couldn’t convince her to stay owing to the kind of offer she had from Yanga,\u201d said club chief executive officer Zakaria Amakhana.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also looking for opportunities to nurture our younger players for the international market,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
