Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto\u2019s foreign trips have continued to yield fruits with various countries now declaring opportunities in various sectors for the Kenyan youth.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Labor, in a notice, has invited applicants to apply for 2, 500 open jobs in the health sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

Those required to fill the vacancies are general nurses, personal assistants and healthcare assistant professionals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government of Kenya is collaborating with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in enhancing safe, regular, and productive labour migration between the two countries,\u201d the notice reads in part.<\/p>\n

It has been signed by Labor Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Initiative has facilitated the employment of thousands of Kenyans in different economic sectors in the KSA and has expressed willingness through various organizations in KSA to recruit additional health care workers from Kenya,\u201d it adds.<\/p>\n

Ruto was recently forced to defend his outside trips following a backlash from the opposition saying it was through the trips that he has been able to secure several deals in favour of the country.<\/p>\n

He for instance noted that his recent visit to Saudi Arabia saw him secure employment slots for Kenyans with the bilateral agreement having been signed.<\/p>\n

Interested female applicants are required to hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree, diploma or certificate in nursing, a valid police clearance certificate and be aged between 22-35 years.<\/p>\n

Degree holders must possess a minimum of two years of continuous service while those with diplomas should be fresh graduates with no experience.<\/p>\n

Certificate holders, on the other hand, should hold a minimum of one year of experience of continuous service.<\/p>\n

The applicants should also be medically fit and have a good proficiency in English; both spoken and written.<\/p>\n

Other requirements include prometric test results and a data flow verification report for the education certificate and nursing council licence or latest employment certificate.<\/p>\n

Terms of service are a two-year renewable contract, eight hours of work, a round-trip air ticket with overtime being in accordance with the country\u2019s labour laws.<\/p>\n

Remuneration for degree holders is 3, 500 Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR)(Sh147,670), diploma 3, 000 SAR (126,574) and certificate 2,200 SAR (Sh92,821).<\/p>\n

Those interested are required to register and apply through the National Employment Authority portal.<\/p>\n

The opportunities, Statehouse spokesman Hussein Mohamed said come as a result of Ruto\u2019s efforts to engage with international partners and negotiation frameworks to connect Kenyans with employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President is committed to promoting Kenya as an investment, manufacturing, trade, and tourism destination, positioning it as a competitive source of professional, skilled, and semi-skilled labour,\u201d Hussein said in a statement.<\/p>\n

He further revealed that more opportunities have been opened following the conclusion of bilateral labour agreements.<\/p>\n

A total of 250,000 jobs, he noted, are available in Germany, 30,000 in Israel with 3,000 mostly in agriculture to be announced by March.<\/p>\n

Some 20,000 jobs in construction and services are available in Serbia and another 10,000 in Russia.<\/p>\n
