Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya Police coach Patrick Mugambi remains optimistic about getting a positive result against Sailors when the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Premier League action resumes this weekend.<\/p>\n

However, Mugambi is wary of his players\u2019 fitness after just days of preparations for the encounter to be played at the City Park Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have trained for just a week. I have tried to sharpen the forwards and I hope it will do us more good going forward,\u201d he said, adding that he will miss two key players.<\/p>\n

\u201cKennedy Sibweche and Victor Wekesa are suspended but we have some players to step in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police Bullets are second in the standings with 27 points, six points behind Butali Warriors after 13 matches.<\/p>\n

Western Jaguars are third with 25 points from 11 games while USIU are fourth with 20 points from 14 matches.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Strathmore University have a date with Sikh Union at Dashmesh Stadium while KU face Nakuru.<\/p>\n

Kirinyaga Knights encounter Gorillas, UoN clash with Karate Axiom and Parkroad Tigers confront Black Tigers.<\/p>\n

Blazers lead the pack with 30 points from 11 matches. Strathmore University women follow with 18 points, while Lakers and USIU Africa both have 17 points in eight and 10 matches, respectively.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s league will see a university derby between Strathmore and Kenyatta Univesity while Black Tigress face Pirates.<\/p>\n
