Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>ewly appointed Shabana coach Sammy \u2018Pamzo\u2019 Omollo is ready to help the club up the Kenyan Premier League standings starting with Sunday\u2019s encounter against fellow strugglers Nzoia.<\/p>\n

Omollo said: \u201cI\u2019m happy to be back on the touchline with Shabana. After lengthy negotiations with the management, I accepted their offer and they agreed to give me full support.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Shabana do not deserve to be in the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe this team will not go down. The fans deserve better. Shabana\u2019s fan base currently is bigger than Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards. When I came here, most people who called told me to ensure that Shabana are not relegated,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The former Gor Mahia and Kenya Police coach promised: \u201cWhen I came here, I knew the team\u2019s problems. They have been struggling and they have been scoring but also conceding cheap goals towards the end of their matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe immediate problems I will address are psychological and tactical. This will ensure we don\u2019t concede towards the end of our matches. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s inexperience.\u201d<\/p>\n

He is targeting maximum points in his first two games against Nzoia Sugar and Ulinzi Stars.<\/p>\n

He also plans to strengthen the team in the current transfer window.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not easy to get good players in the mid-season transfer window but if we get some, we will recruit,\u201d noted the former international defender.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, he has requested Kisii Governor Simba Arati to fast-track renovation works at Gusii Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe seriously need Gusii Stadium. During my days as a player, getting a point for a visiting team at Gusii Stadium was not easy. A draw was like a win,\u201d noted Omollo.<\/p>\n

Club vice chairman Wycliffe Ayienda assured that the management will fully support Omollo and his team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have given them a free hand to sign players in the current window. I want to assure you that we shall fully support Pamzo and the team. We have confidence in him since he is experienced and fits well in our plans,\u201d Ayienda said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Ayienda unveiled the club\u2019s two new signings so far, midfielders Japheth Mzungu (Rainbow) and Brian Odhiambo (Darajani Gogo).<\/p>\n

They are expected to make their debuts on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Striker Mathew Tegisi (Gusii FC) and left-back Lamela Zuberi (Singida Fountain, Tanzania) are also said to be at Tore Bobe\u2019s entrance while more than 10 players are set to leave the Kisii-based side.<\/p>\n
