Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang\u2019ula joined the family of Kibwezi East MP Jessica Mbalu in a requiem mass of their son at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Karen.<\/p>\n

Wetang\u2019ula expressed his deepest sympathies for the loss of Mbalu\u2019s son saying that it was the most difficult occurrence to comprehend.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged that MP Mbalu is an industrious leader who has returned to serve her constituency three times in the August House.<\/p>\n

The Speaker praised her as a strong leader even in religious matters indicating that she was a member of the Catholic Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n

Wetang\u2019ula expressed confidence that she would emerge strongly and weather the storm.<\/p>\n

“My words to you are inadequate. Accept my deepest condolences and that of the Parliament fraternity for the loss of your dear son, Benedict Musyoka Mbalu,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Now like never before, our thoughts and sympathies are with you and your family. We are praying for your strength during this painful moment of mourning your dear son.”<\/p>\n

The Speaker said that he learnt of the demise of Benedict through the Clerk of the National Assembly, Samuel Njoroge.<\/p>\n

He assured the Mbalu family that Parliament and the country at large were standing with them at the difficult moment of grief.<\/p>\n

The Speaker termed the unfortunate occurrence as a shock to the family and encouraged them to bravely go through the grieving process while believing in prayers and hoping for a better tomorrow.<\/p>\n

“Like any parent, no one would wish to bury their child, but we have no control over God\u2019s plans. We only believe in prayer and live with hope for a better tomorrow,” Wetang\u2019ula added.<\/p>\n

MP Mbalu eulogised her son as a friend who had departed sooner and said she would cherish the warm moments they shared.<\/p>\n

Other leaders present also eulogized the late Benedict as a hardworking and focused young professional who had a promising future.<\/p>\n

Dignitaries present included; Attorney General Justin Muturi, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, CS Soipan Tuya, MPs; Esther Passaris, Beatrice Elachi and Deputy Clerk National Assembly Serah Kioko among others.<\/p>\n
