Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Shabana coach Sammy \u2018Pamzo\u2019 Omollo says he is not disappointed despite the team\u2019s 1-0 loss against Ulinzi Stars and wants to bolster the team before their next match.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that he will save the team from relegation adding that they will take their remaining matches as finals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to pick maximum points at home in the remaining matches. The worst should be a draw at home. The team doesn’t deserve at the bottom of the standings,\u201d said the tactician.<\/p>\n

He warned the players to up their game after new signing Lamela Maneno\u2019s early mistake which led to the visitor\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cLamela had a bad day. He committed an unnecessary foul and he was not dealing with aerial balls. Going forward, if I feel you are a burden to the team, I will not hesitate to pull you out,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the game, Omollo said: \u201cIt was not a bad game and I must appreciate our players. I picked some positives from the game despite the loss. There were improvements despite conceding an early goal which was due to a mistake from the goalkeeper.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe have more than 10 days before our next match against Nairobi City Stars on February 4 and we must work on the mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said they intend to sign two goalkeepers before the end of the transfer window. \u201cGoalkeeping is one area we must strengthen. The goal we conceded was due to a mistake from the keeper and this has been our problem the whole season,\u201d said the coach.<\/p>\n

The club has already signed striker Mathew Tegisi from the National Super League side, Gusii FC and midfielder Japheth Lihanda from Rainbow.<\/p>\n

Ulinzi\u2019s coach Anthony Kimani admitted that Shabana gave his charges a run for their money.<\/p>\n

\u201cShabana played well despite being in the relegation zone. However, we got our chance and utilized it,\u201d said Kimani.<\/p>\n

He was full of praise for his new signings, singling out forward Leshan Mootian who was named Man of the Match in the game.<\/p>\n

Mootian set up Masita Masuta to score the lone goal of the game that was played at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.<\/p>\n

Other new signings\u2014forward Edward Odhiambo and Javan Omondi \u2014also played in the game against Shabana.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new signings have strengthened the team and I expect the team to give 100 percent in the remaining matches. We don\u2019t deserve to be down there,\u201d added the former defender.<\/p>\n
