Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi has said that the three arms of government should be interdependent and work together for the sake of the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, Elachi also said it was important for all of them from the executive to respect each other regardless of how one feels.<\/p>\n

Elachi also said it was wrong for the state to start a war with the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

“It was very unhealthy for the state to begin a war with the Judiciary. The way the three arms of government are behaving makes Kenyans wonder whether the Constitution has stopped working,” she said.<\/p>\n

Her remarks come after President Ruto accused the Judiciary of teaming up with cartels to stall his legacy projects.<\/p>\n

The utterances made on January 2, elicited reactions from several associations.<\/p>\n

On January 15, CJ Koome said that the Judiciary wrote to Ruto seeking an audience to establish the genesis of his complaints against them.<\/p>\n

President Ruto later agreed to hold talks with the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

The Head of State said he was ready for talks with Chief Justice Koome to address alleged corruption in the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Ruto made his promise true after holding a meeting with Chief Justice Martha Koome at State House.<\/p>\n

Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu, Attorney General Justin Muturi, Council of Governors chairperson Anne Waiguru and Solicitor General John Mose among other senior officials at the State House were also part of the meeting.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the executive and the legislature agreed to support the judiciary\u2019s request for additional budgetary support to deliver and fight corruption.<\/p>\n
