Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Reigning women champions Kenya Ports Authority will continue their surge to the summit of the Kenya National Basketball League with two matches in the city.<\/p>\n

The port women play leaders Storms, who have bagged 16 points from 10 games. They also play Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) Lynx on Sunday.<\/p>\n

KPA is one of the three women\u2019s teams, alongside Zetech University Sparks and Strathmore University Swords, who are unbeaten. They have 12 points.<\/p>\n

A total of six Premier League matches are scheduled at the United States International University courts with Eugene Genga\u2019s University of Nairobi teams in action.<\/p>\n

Genga observed that it’s not the best time to play league matches since just returned from holiday and some players have exams coming up.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur preparations is not the best, to be honest. At the end of the day, books come first but we hope to give a good account of ourselves,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

They are rebuilding the women\u2019s team and every match offers an opportunity to learn. Genga expects a real test against the bankers.<\/p>\n

The Terrorists welcome Platinum Eldonets, whose guards have experience playing in the top flight.<\/p>\n

Strathmore University Blades, who had a poor first leg, will seek to fix the loopholes when they battle Eldonets Platinum.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo far so good we are set for the game. Our opponents are a tactically formidable side with good shooters and the only way to stop them is to improve in our match-up defence and play big,\u201d said coach Tony Ochieng\u2019.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s side, Swords, face a real test against Equity Bank Hawks.<\/p>\n

The students are riding high, winning their seven opening games to lie third on the log with a maximum of 14 points.<\/p>\n
