Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Thirteen clubs are set to converge at the Mpesa Foundation Academy in Thika this Saturday for the Kiambu Level One Swimming Championships.<\/p>\n

The teams are\u2014 Nova Sharks, Crawford International School, Woodcreek School, Supermarlins, Hydro Fit, The Harpoons, Braeburn Swim Team, Mpesa Foundation Academy, Juja Prep and Senior School, and St. Peter’s, Juja.<\/p>\n

This gala marks the commencement of the mid-season, with teams dedicating themselves to intensive training to elevate their performance.<\/p>\n

Crawford International School, under the leadership of head coach Omar Omari, conducted a swimming clinic to focus on endurance, sprints, and stroke techniques.<\/p>\n

Omari is ambitiously striving to clinch overall trophies for both boys and girls in the event on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the newly appointed coach Alex Kaindi at Nova Sharks is also enthusiastic about his team’s prospects, having implemented morning training sessions to enhance the swimmers’ capabilities.<\/p>\n

Supermarlins Swim Club’s coach Valentine Wambui endeavours to maintain their league lead having already posted 50 points.<\/p>\n

She was recently appointed as an assistant coach for Team Kenya during the 8th Africa Aquatics Zone 3 Championship in Kigali, Rwanda in December.<\/p>\n

Kiambu Aquatics chairman Gideon Kioko commended the teams for their remarkable progress and encouraged coaches to pursue both local and international courses.<\/p>\n

Kioko envisioned fostering the growth of swimming and aquatics sports in the region through collaborative efforts with various stakeholders, including the government, athletes, parents, coaches, and officials.<\/p>\n
