Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management has directed all state corporations to align their strategic plans with Kenya Kwanza government manifesto.<\/p>\n

The ministry noted that the majority of the corporations had failed to update their strategic plans and service charters one year after the government came into power.<\/p>\n

CS Moses Kuria said tens of state corporations had failed to update their strategic plans which were lying in shelves covered in dust.<\/p>\n

Kuria said the ministry would in April launch an exercise with the office of the Ombudsman where members of the public would be given a chance to name and shame the worst performing corporations.<\/p>\n

He said the exercise would give the taxpayers a chance to air their frustrations and gains with the ministry publishing the names of the best and worst performing corporations.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany state corporations are still working on the archaic strategic plans and have failed to renew their service charters, it’s time this changed or we shall act,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kuria spoke in Lake Naivasha Resort during the ongoing induction workshop for new board members of the 107 state corporations.<\/p>\n

He expressed state’s concern over misuse of public funds by various corporations at a time when the country is facing financial crunch.<\/p>\n

He called on the new board members to move with haste and address the wastage of public resources which had been caused by graft and financial mismanagement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe taxpayers have had enough with wastage of public funds and it’s time we addressed this and improved on service delivery,\u201d Kuria said.<\/p>\n

The CS at the same time assured that the NYS recruitment exercise set for next week would be one of a kind with applicants knowing their fate in hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnlike the past where recruits had to wait for days, this year’s recruitment will see candidates know their fate at the end of the exercise and their names published in our portal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

State Corporations Advisory Committee chairperson Simon Indimuli said they were keen to align service delivery with the government vision.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe induction workshop is meant to bring on board the new members so that they can improve on service delivery and align with the government\u2019s manifestos,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
