Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Crawford International School (CIS) through a partnership with private education provider, ADvTECH group, has introduced an AI-powered, customer tech learning platform, ADvLEARN.<\/p>\n

Under the Cambridge curriculum, the platform seeks to assist year seven to 12 students in Mathematics, while under the IGCSE curriculum, it aims to assist year 10 and 11 students in learning Physics and Chemistry.<\/p>\n

Under the AS level, the platform also aims to help year 12 students learn Chemistry and Physics.<\/p>\n

CIS principal, Amanda Birkenstock said ADvLEARN aims to provide personalized learning paths using adaptive technology to deliver data-driven insights and learning analytics.<\/p>\n

She said it tailors learning experiences to the unique needs and pace of each student.<\/p>\n

\u201cADvLEARN utilizes algorithms to analyse individual learning styles, strengths and areas for improvement, enabling the creation of custom learning pathways that ensure a better understanding of concepts in different subjects,\u201d Birkenstock said.<\/p>\n

Powered by data-driven insights, ADvLEARN also aims to furnish teachers with a thorough understanding of student performance.<\/p>\n

The learning analytics supplied by the platform are designed to deliver valuable perceptions into individual areas that require extra attention.<\/p>\n

This empowerment allows teachers to make well-informed decisions regarding instructional methods and interventions tailored to the unique needs of each learner.<\/p>\n

ADvTECH schools division academic head Desiree Hugo said upon completion of homework and assessments, students submit their work and the platform automates the grading process, providing instant feedback on their performance.<\/p>\n

She said the real-time feedback on the platform allows educators to adapt their teaching strategies in response to the evolving needs of every learner.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fosters a more effective and engaging learning environment,\u201d Hugo said.<\/p>\n

Once they identify areas of weakness, the learner can review the subject through video, or text available online.<\/p>\n

Hugo added that this not only streamlines the assessment workflow for teachers but also offers students the opportunity for immediate reflection and improvement promoting a culture of continuous learning.<\/p>\n

ADvLEARN enables teachers to grade and narrow down specific areas that need assistance as well as easily assign personalised learning tasks.<\/p>\n

This ensures that students receive content and assessments tailored to their unique needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis feature enhances engagement as students interact with material that is directly relevant to their learning journey in the current and past classes, fostering a deeper connection with the subject area,\u201d Hugo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy adopting this AI-powered learning platform, students at CIS are equipped with 21st-century skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a dynamic evolving world. Teachers are also supported to ensure a personalised approach for each learner and parents track the progress of the child.\u201d<\/p>\n

ADvLEARN has been specifically developed by MathU for ADvTECH group of schools.<\/p>\n

After five years of research and laying the foundation, ADvLEARN was rolled out across South African schools in 2023.<\/p>\n

ADvTECH Group has a Schools division which comprises nine brands with more than 108 schools across South Africa and the rest of Africa.<\/p>\n

It also includes Gaborone International School in Botswana, The Makini Group of Schools, and Crawford International School in Kenya.<\/p>\n
