Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has revealed that Apple has employed over 23,000 Kenyans.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Tuesday at the Global World Summit in Dubai, the President said that the employed Kenyans are working remotely.<\/p>\n

“When I visited Silicon Valley last year, Apple\u2019s Tim Cook informed me that his company now employs about 23,000 Kenyans, all working from Nairobi,” he said.<\/p>\n

President Ruto highlighted the transformative power of innovation while cautioning against potential risks.<\/p>\n

The President recalled meeting a college student in the rural village of Kaiboi in Nandi County, who works remotely for a Germany-based AI company.<\/p>\n

“The game-changing possibilities arising from the convergence of a combination of energy, technology and the potential of our youth is brought into sharp focus by an experience I had a month ago in Kaiboi, a small village in rural Kenya, where I met a young diploma student. Brian Kipchumba works for an AI company based in Germany, from his laptop,” Ruto added.<\/p>\n

Ruto said his focus on the possibilities from the combined energy, technology and the potential of Kenyan youth is sharper.<\/p>\n

The President added that Kenya’s soul of innovation is the constant endeavour to meet public demand by providing solutions to problems, efficiently delivering services and transforming challenges into productive opportunities.<\/p>\n

Ruto said the digital economy is delivering attractive opportunities for young people to work for employers across the world without having to leave their homes in Kenya.<\/p>\n
