Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Heavy rains that pounded the border town of Malaba in Busia County halted the men\u2019s Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League encounter between Kenya Prisons and Trailblazers on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The league entered the third leg at Malaba Stadium on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The postponed game had ended in a 2-2 set tie when rains stopped the match from proceeding to a run-off to decide which team would go home with three crucial points.<\/p>\n

Trailblazers\u2019 unbeaten run in five matches nearly came to an end when Kenya Prisons led 25-20 and 25-21 in the first two sets before Trailblazers rallied in the last two sets 21-25 and 24-26 to level the score with hopes of wrapping up the game in a run-off, but rains jolted their hopes.<\/p>\n

Organizers said the match would be replayed.<\/p>\n

In the other men\u2019s category, KDF won their fifth match after beating Western Prison 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-18). GSU also won their sixth match after beating Mt Kenya Base Yetu 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-14).<\/p>\n

Kenya Ports Authority, on the other hand, maintained their winning streak, beating Kenya Forestry Service 3-0 ( 26-24, 25-15, 25-21) while GSU beat Kenya Army 3-0 ( 25-17, 25-21, 25-22).<\/p>\n

Administration Police also won their match, beating Western Prisons 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 17-25, 25-11).<\/p>\n

Equity registered their fourth victory after beating Rift Valley Prisons 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-21). In their second game, KDF beat Equity 3-1 (18-25), 26-24, 26-24, 25-23).<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s league, six-time Confederation of African Volleyball Board (CAVB) champions Kenya Pipeline consolidated their lead on the log after beating defending champions Kenya Prisons.<\/p>\n

The two teams traveled for the third edition of the league with six points apiece from two matches, but Pipeline topped the log-on goal difference.<\/p>\n

Prisons met Kenya Pipeline with one victory in their favour compared to two by their bitter rivals span in five years. They had hoped to reverse the trend, which failed to bear fruit.<\/p>\n
