Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) have postponed national teams\u2019 training camps ahead of next month\u2019s African Games.<\/p>\n

The federation had on Sunday picked the two teams, which were set to join camp on Tuesday at Moi Stadium, Kasarani.<\/p>\n

Instead, KVF Deputy President and Technical Coordinator Paul Bitok, in a statement, said: \u201cI hope this message finds you well. I regret to inform you that the Java sponsorship ceremony and African Games training has been postponed until further notice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. More details will be made available to you soon. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sunday, KVF president Charles Nyaberi unveiled provisional squads for both indoor and beach volleyball ahead of the Games set for March 8-23.<\/p>\n

Former league champions and leaders General Service Unit dominate the men\u2019s squad. The squad has opposite-hitter Joshua Kimaru, libero Hudson Kipchumba, setter Brian Melly, middle blocker Shadrack Misiko and outside-hitter Nicholas Matui.<\/p>\n

Kenya Ports Authority have opposite-hitter Peter Kamara, setter Gregory Kiplimo and middle-blocker Brian Kamonde.<\/p>\n

Equity Bank have middle-blocker Wilson Cheruiyot while the Kenya Forest Service have middle blocker Devis Ogutu and James Mutero joins from Trailblazers.<\/p>\n

Others are former GSU opposite-hitter Abiud Chirchir, who plies his trade in Saudi Arabia, former KPA opposite-hitter Enock Mogeni, middle-blocker Simon Kipkorir, outside hitter Elvis Kimutai and Dennis Omollo.<\/p>\n

Cheruiyot, Esokon and Kipchumba are set for debuts.<\/p>\n

Kenya Pipeline dominate the Malikia Strikers preliminary team with seven entrants including opposite-hitter Loise Simiyu, liberos Agripina Kundu and Delphine Misaki, middle-blocker Lorine Chebet and outside-hitter Leonida Kasaya.<\/p>\n

KCB have five, thus, libero Lincy Jeruto, setters Esther Mutinda and Immaculate Nekesa, middle-blocker Belinda Barasa and outside-hitters Jemimah Siangu and Juliana Namutira. DCI opposite-hitter Mercy Kiminza and outside-hitter Sarah Namisi have also been called up.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s beach volleyball team has regulars Gaudencia Makokha and Naomi Too of Kenya Pipeline, Yvonne Wavinya of Kenya Prisons and Shirteen Sembel. They will be under head coach Salome Wanjala.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s team has Elphas Makuto and Jairus Kipkosgei of Kenya Prisons, Donald Mchete and Edward Kibet. Former international Ibrahim Oduor heads the technical bench.<\/p>\n
