{"id":113719,"date":"2024-02-26T19:51:38","date_gmt":"2024-02-26T19:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/insurer-taps-local-pharmacies-for-deliver-healthcare-services"},"modified":"2024-02-26T20:32:32","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T20:32:32","slug":"insurer-taps-local-pharmacies-for-deliver-healthcare-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/insurer-taps-local-pharmacies-for-deliver-healthcare-services","title":{"rendered":"Insurer taps local pharmacies for deliver healthcare services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>APA Insurance is betting on its new door-to-door offering to deliver last mile healthcare to clients.<\/p>\n<p>The APA PharmaFirst Care is an initiative that aims to offer professional healthcare advice and treatment for common illnesses directly through local pharmacies.<\/p>\n<p>The insurance firm says that this approach not only improves the accessibility of essential medications, but also ensures a more efficient and cost-effective experience for clients.<\/p>\n<p>APA Insurance head of health David Mumo, said the programme is poised to transform the way individuals address their health concerns, as clients are no longer constrained by appointment schedules and can now easily engage in consultations at various participating pharmacies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClients can now benefit from a seamless process where, upon consultation, if deemed suitable, necessary medications are provided directly by the participating pharmacies, with all payable associated costs covered by APA Insurance,\u201d said Mumo.<\/p>\n<p>Last mile delivery of health services has been low in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 2022, males spend an average of Sh52,924 per year for inpatient admissions whereas females spend an average of Sh27,536 per year.<\/p>\n<p>The latest initiative follows an earlier partnership called APA SHEild that APA is betting on to increase access to affordable financial products for women in Kenya, including health, wellness, personal wealth and savings insurance.<\/p>\n<p>The participating pharmacies include Malibu Pharmacy, MY Dawa, Haltons Inkamed Pharmacy and One stop pharmacy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
