Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya and Australia are committed to furthering bilateral cooperation, drawing upon the longstanding diplomatic ties of the two nations spanning over 50 years.<\/p>\n

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said the two countries have affirmed commitment to continued partnership and the exploration of new areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi, who is also the Foreign and Diaspora Cabinet Secretary, stated on X after meeting Australian High Commissioner to Kenya Jenny Da Rin.<\/p>\n

Rin paid Mudavadi a courtesy visit at his Railways Headquarters offices in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur discussions encompassed vital issues ranging from trade and investment to agriculture, tourism, mining, sports, and environmental conservation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi said he presented the Kenyan case, emphasising the importance of mutual bilateral and multilateral collaboration.<\/p>\n

He said Kenya is to attract more Australian investors in the country.<\/p>\n

Earlier during the day, Mudavadi participated in a session with members of the African Diplomatic Corps to invigorate the exchange of ideas and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.<\/p>\n

He underscored the need for African Nations to strengthen diplomatic ties and advance impactful diplomacy for Africa and beyond.<\/p>\n

He further called for collaboration in navigating global challenges such as climate change and seizing opportunities for growth and development.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi emphasised the dire need for African leaders to strike a balance between global solidarity and continental cooperation towards peace and security with statistics showing that in the recent past, Africa has experienced conflicts that have affected millions of people including women, children and the elderly.<\/p>\n

He used the platform to urge African diplomats to rally their capitals in support of Kenya\u2019s bid for the AU Commission\u2019s top position.<\/p>\n

Accompanying the PCS were Korir Sing\u2019Oei, Principal Secretary State Department for Foreign Affairs, Aurelia Rono, PS State Department for Parliamentary Affairs under the OPCS, Moi Lemoshira, Director of General Foreign Service, Political and diplomatic Affairs and Dennis Mburu, Director Africa Affairs among others.<\/p>\n

In November last year, Mudavadi hosted a luncheon in honour of members of the diplomatic corps stationed in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

The luncheon marked the first meeting between the Prime Cabinet Secretary with the foreign heads of missions in Kenya since his appointment.<\/p>\n

In his address to the envoys, Mudavadi recognised the vital role the envoys play in fostering goodwill and collaboration between Kenya and the respective countries.<\/p>\n
