Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has said Kenyans are going to witness a decrease in the fuel prices by Sh10.<\/p>\n

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) is expected to issue monthly review of oil prices on Sunday, April 14.<\/p>\n

Speaking during Sunday service at ACK St Peter’s Cathedral in Nyeri, Ruto said the prices will come down by Sh10, a milestone that will push the country forward, he said.<\/p>\n

“Today the price of Unga that was Sh200 is almost hitting Sh100,the shilling has strengthened against the dollar,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Fuel prices were up but today it is going down with Sh10. All this is because we are making the right decisions and not popular decisions,” the President said.<\/p>\n

He asked leaders across the country to stay focused since they have a historic opportunity to change the country.<\/p>\n

“The countries ahead of us put an end to poverty, industrialised, have made progress and all this is because they made the right decisions and their leaders led from the front,” Ruto said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State’s remarks comes after Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura on Sunday said Kenyans should expect a major announcement on the reduction of fuel prices.<\/p>\n

He said Epra will deliver the much-awited announcement at 3pm.<\/p>\n

\u201cA major announcement on the reduction of fuel prices shall be made today at 3pm by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Agency (Epra),\u201d Mwaura said on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n

He noted that the expected reduction in fuel prices will have a ripple effect on the high cost of living which Kenyans have been decrying.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will go a long way in reducing the cost of living in the country for hustlers and Kenyans at large,\u201d Mwaura said.<\/p>\n

The last review of fuel prices by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) was in mid-March.<\/p>\n

Epra reviewed fuel prices leading to a reduction of petrol pump price by Sh7.21 per litre.<\/p>\n

In the March review, the Authority also reduced prices per litre of diesel by Sh5.09 and that of kerosene by Sh4.49.<\/p>\n
