Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Zimbabwe\u2019s IT solutions provider, Tano Digital Solutions has completed the Acquisition of Kenya\u2019s tech firm Altron, setting the state for its official operations in Kenya.<\/p>\n

The latest transaction follows the acquisition of majority stake in Altron Mozambique and Altron Botswana in 2022 taking its tally to six countries in Africa where it operates.<\/p>\n

The company will be looking to tap into the growing digitisation in the country to grow its operations.<\/p>\n

The move marks a significant step forward for the company as it expands its regional footprint and brings innovative solutions to the dynamic Kenyan market.<\/p>\n

Tano Group CEO Tawanda Wallen, said that through strategic partnerships, and tailored solutions, the firm is well-positioned to help Kenyan businesses navigate the complexities of the digital frontier.<\/p>\n

“Tano Digital Solutions is committed to driving innovation and providing value for our stakeholders while addressing societal needs,” said Tawanda Wallen Mangere, Group CEO of Tano Digital Solutions.<\/p>\n

Kenya’s IT landscape has witnessed significant growth and transformation over the past decade, driven by advancements in technology, increased internet penetration, and a growing digital economy.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a panel discussion that brought together industry leaders, CEOs, and experts to discuss pressing cybersecurity challenges, Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) CEO Paul Okwiri, said that Kenya is a leader on the continent when it comes to access to digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe country\u2019s ICT sector has on average grown 10.8% annually since 2016 and its digital economy is expected to contribute to 9.24% of the country\u2019s GDP by 2025,\u201d said John Paul Okwiri, Chief Executive Officer of Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA).<\/p>\n

He added that today, 98 percent of Kenyans use mobile money and 65 percent have access to the internet.<\/p>\n

Okwiri noted that with the new acquisition, Tano Digital will spearhead the enhancement of digital trust in Africa due to their Pan-African resources and their experience of over 15 years of operating in Kenya.<\/p>\n

The uptake of digital solutions by Kenyan businesses has been steadily increasing, driven by e commerce, mobile technology, cloud computing and cyber security solutions.<\/p>\n

According to the experts, with the growing digitization of business operations, cybersecurity has become a priority for Kenyan businesses.<\/p>\n

Many organizations are investing in cybersecurity solutions and practices to protect their data, systems, and networks from cyber threats and breaches.<\/p>\n
