Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has urged investors in the United States to partner with Kenya for the benefit of both countries.<\/p>\n

The President said that Kenya has a strong economic interest and promising collaborations in trade and investment with the US businesses.<\/p>\n

“I want to affirm your confidence in entering or expanding your cooperation in our market and to ask and answer the question; what can we do for you and what can we do together?’ he said.<\/p>\n

The President was speaking during the Kenya-US Business Forum in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

Ruto said that Kenya is committed to eradicating unemployment, poverty, hunger, disease and inequalities through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.<\/p>\n

He said that it allows the country to focus on effective strategies to deliver rapid and inclusive growth and enhance productivity.<\/p>\n

Ruto said to achieve this, the government undertakes and promotes strategic investments in priority value chains within sectors.<\/p>\n

The sectors include Universal Healthcare, Food Security, Agro Processing, Digital Infrastructure and Affordable Housing.<\/p>\n

Ruto said there are opportunities in the Universal Healthcare Coverage strategy including vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing and production of medical commodities and bio-medical supplies.<\/p>\n

“This enhances our capacity to provide high-quality services to Kenyans, promote self-sufficiency and create significant employment opportunities,” he added.<\/p>\n

The President further stated that through the Special Economic Zone in Thika, the investors will be able to access local and East African markets.<\/p>\n

“If you are looking for market and opportunities, there you are,” he said.<\/p>\n

The President added that the enhancement of the Technology Eco-System attracts big technology companies and promotes incubation and scaling up of startups.<\/p>\n

He said the move has positioned Kenya’s Silicone Savanna as Africa’s premier ICT and Digital Innovation Destination.<\/p>\n

The President said that Kenya has leveraged the huge green energy potential has enabled Kenya to quickly become a global leader in the establishment of Worldclass Green Data Infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Ruto further said that investing in the Affordable Housing Project is an opportunity to create jobs and for companies that use modern technology to build houses affordably, sustainably and cost-effectively.<\/p>\n

He said Kenya is open to engagements with investors to make the country\u2019s business environment more attractive, stable and predictable.<\/p>\n

The President added that such routine discussions have yielded results, with Kenya being ranked among the top foreign direct investment destinations in the world.<\/p>\n

During the Kenya-U.S. Business Forum, Ruto held a round table discussion with the US Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n

The US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman was also present.<\/p>\n

Leaders, dignitaries and investors were also in attendance.<\/p>\n
