Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has promised Kenyans that the politics of ethnicity are behind them.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the Madaraka Day Celebrations at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma on Saturday, he vowed not to let Kenyans down.<\/p>\n

“Going into the future I want to promise the people of Kenya that we will never go back to the politics of ethnicity and personalities and politics that people are not in the centre,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I want to assure you that we will work hard to make sure that our politics is focused on an agenda of developing Kenya.”<\/p>\n

He also promised to deal with corruption, wasteful spending and unnecessary use of public resources.<\/p>\n

He said they will deal with those involved in corruption and wastage of public resources.<\/p>\n

Further, he said the government is committed in ensuring that it drives the agenda of Kenya in a manner that will benefit all regions the same way.<\/p>\n

This year’s theme is hinged on \u201cAgriculture and Food Security\u201d.<\/p>\n

Present at the function were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his spouse pastor Dorcas Rigathi, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Senate counterpart Amason Kingi.<\/p>\n

First lady Mama Rachel Ruto, several cabinet secretaries and principal secretaries were also in attendance.<\/p>\n

Governors Kenneth Lusaka Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia George Natembeya, and former Busia governor Sospeter Ojamong were also among the attendees.<\/p>\n
