{"id":12242,"date":"2020-08-03T18:10:57","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T18:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/kenya\/?p=12242"},"modified":"2020-08-03T18:10:57","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T18:10:57","slug":"ex-afc-leopards-coach-eymael-banned-for-two-years-and-fined-tsh8million-by-tanzanian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/sport\/ex-afc-leopards-coach-eymael-banned-for-two-years-and-fined-tsh8million-by-tanzanian","title":{"rendered":"Ex- AFC Leopards coach Eymael banned for two years and fined Tsh8million by Tanzanian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Author: Odero Charles<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Former AFC Leopards coach Luc Eymael has been banned for two years and also fined\u00a0 sh400,000 by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF).<\/p>\n<p>Eymael, 60, was fired as coach of Tanzania Premier League side Yanga Africans\u00a0 following his racist comments in the media where he compared the club&#8217;s baying fans to &#8216;monkeys and dogs&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe TFF disciplinary committee has decided to ban coach Luc [Eymael] for two years and also fine him Tsh8million for the racist comments he made towards Yanga fans,\u201d\u00a0 TFF said in a statement on their official Twitter account.<\/p>\n<p>Eymael has reportedly apologised for his comments and it remains to be seen if he will ever be offered a coaching job on the continent again after this outburst.<\/p>\n<p>South African Football Coaches Association (Safca) has also written to its government seeking to block any application for a work permit from the Belgian coach in future.<\/p>\n<p>The 60-year-old has coached across the African continent at the likes of AS Vita, AFC Leopards, Rayon Sports, Al-Masr, Al-Merrikh and Tala&#8217;ea El Gaish.<\/p>\n<p>The controversial mentor\u00a0also coached AFC Leopards\u201a Free State Stars and Polokwane City in South Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Author: Odero Charles AfricaPress-Kenya: Former AFC Leopards coach Luc Eymael has been banned for two years and also fined\u00a0 sh400,000 by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF).
