Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Makutano Police Station, through an auctioneer, announced that it will put millions worth of unclaimed properties that have been lying idle at the station on auction.<\/p>\n

Among the uncollected properties are 6 vehicles, 9 motorcycles, television screens, and car tyres.<\/p>\n

The notice was issued after an application was made at the Principal Magistrate\u2019s Court at Eldama Ravine to have the owners of the unclaimed properties collect them at the police station.<\/p>\n

\u201cNotice is issued pursuant to the provisions of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the laws of Kenya and following authorities and order under the Miscellaneous Application Case No. E29 of 2024 in the Senior Principal Magistrate\u2019s Court at Eldama Ravine, to the owners of motor vehicles, motorcycles and any other items which are lying idle and unclaimed within Makutano Police Station, to collect the said properties at the said police station,\u201d read the notice in part.<\/p>\n

The notice further revealed that the owners will have to part with the cost of the publication notice before picking up their items.<\/p>\n

Failure by the owners to collect the said properties, Makutano Police Station through Windsor House Auctioneers shall sell by way of public auction on expiry of a thirty 30-day notice in effect from October 31.<\/p>\n

Some of the models of vehicles to be put up for auction include a Ford Pick Up, Toyota Belta, Toyota Corolla, Mercedes Actros Semitrailler, Toyota Mark X, and a Nissan Matatu.<\/p>\n

Equally, 3 Bajaj Boxer motorcycles, 2 Kingbird motorbikes, a Cocimecam, Haojue, Haojin, and Dayun are also expected to be auctioned.<\/p>\n

Additionally, blue Television sets and six ling long tyres will be auctioned.<\/p>\n

Separately, a notice was issued to the owners of motor vehicles that are lying at two Nairobi-based auto garages.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the aforesaid motor vehicles are not collected at the expiry of this notice, the same will be sold by Public Auction without any further reference thereof,\u201d the notice warned.<\/p>\n

Toyota Land Cruiser V8, Hammer, Mercedes Benz, Mazda Bongo, Subaru, and BMW are some of the brands awaiting to be collected. In total, there are 17 vehicles.<\/p>\n

The owners were asked to collect their motor vehicles within 30 days from October 31 upon payment of all accumulated storage charges and any other incidental costs incurred as of the dated delivery.<\/p>\n
