\nAfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is expected to tour Coast region this week to open party offices.<\/p>\n

He will also drum up support for the party ahead of the next general election and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).<\/p>\n

The former vice president’s visit comes barely two weeks after ODM leader\u00a0Raila\u00a0Odinga toured the region where the BBI and the 2022 General Election campaigns took centre stage in Taita-Taveta, Kwale and Mombasa counties, respectively.<\/p>\n

Last month, Deputy President William\u00a0Ruto\u00a0also toured the county where he held a meeting with over 400 religious leaders in the region.<\/p>\n

In Taita-Taveta, Raila was hosted by Governor Granton Samboja who has since joined the ODM leader’s\u00a0political\u00a0bandwagon.<\/p>\n

Samboja, elected on a\u00a0Wiper\u00a0Party ticket in the last election, has lately been deeply involved in ODM activities in the region that has been regarded as Raila’s stronghold.<\/p>\n

Samboja has been instrumental in drumming up support for the\u00a0handshake\u00a0between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako and Assembly Speaker Meshack Maganga confirmed Kalonzo will tour the region tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Mwashako and Maganga said\u00a0Kalonzo\u00a0will first address the Assembly members at the chambers in the morning, officially open the party offices before addressing a political rally at the Wundanyi bus stop.<\/p>\n

Sources told\u00a0The Standard\u00a0that Kalonzo will install the MP as his point man in the region after the governor shifted his allegiance to Raila. \u201cI will host my party leader tomorrow.
