Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Mohamed Salah will return to the World Cup with Egypt next summer. The Liverpool superstar scored twice in Egypt\u2019s 3\u20130 win over Djibouti on Wednesday, securing his team\u2019s place at the top of their African qualifying group with one match to spare.<\/p>\n

Egypt thus becomes the third African team<\/b> to qualify so far \u2014 after Morocco and Tunisia<\/b>. Ibrahim Adel also scored for Egypt.<\/p>\n

Salah and Egypt previously appeared at the 2018 World Cup<\/b>, but the forward was hampered by a shoulder injury sustained during the Champions League final<\/b> just weeks earlier, when Liverpool lost to Real Madrid. During that tournament, Egypt lost all three of their group-stage matches \u2014 to hosts Russia<\/b>, Uruguay<\/b>, and Saudi Arabia<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Egypt will be among the nine African teams<\/b> to qualify directly for the World Cup, with the draw set for December 5 in Washington, D.C.<\/b>
\nBurkina Faso<\/b> sits second in Group A behind Egypt after a 1\u20130 win in Sierra Leone<\/b>, while Ethiopia<\/b> defeated Guinea-Bissau<\/b> 1\u20130.<\/p>\n

Cape Verde<\/b> came from 3\u20131 down to draw 3\u20133 with Libya<\/b>, edging closer to a historic first-ever World Cup qualification. Cape Verde now leads Group D by two points ahead of Cameroon<\/b>, who beat Mauritius<\/b> 2\u20130 \u2014 with goals from Nicolas Ngamaleu<\/b> and Bryan Mbeumo<\/b>.<\/p>\n

In the other Group D match, Angola<\/b> drew 2\u20132 at home with Eswatini<\/b>.<\/p>\n

A dominant 5\u20130 victory<\/b> for Ghana<\/b> over the Central African Republic<\/b> brought the Black Stars within touching distance of qualification \u2014 they now need only one point from their final game. Madagascar<\/b> remains second in Group I behind Ghana after a 2\u20131 win over the Comoros<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Mali<\/b> secured a 2\u20130 away victory<\/b> against Chad<\/b>. Elsewhere, Niger<\/b> beat Congo<\/b> 3\u20131, and Zambia<\/b> edged Tanzania<\/b> 1\u20130 in Group E.<\/p>\n
