{"id":15346,"date":"2020-10-03T20:45:28","date_gmt":"2020-10-03T20:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/kenya\/?p=15346"},"modified":"2020-10-03T20:45:28","modified_gmt":"2020-10-03T20:45:28","slug":"uganda-airlines-flies-to-nairobi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/economy\/uganda-airlines-flies-to-nairobi","title":{"rendered":"Uganda Airlines flies to Nairobi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Author: JOE OMBUOR\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Uganda Airlines\u00a0is poised to be the first African carrier to own an Airbus A330-800 when two planes on order are delivered later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The long haul planes that cost $260 million (Sh28 billion) apiece will join the initial fleet of four medium-haul CRJ 900 jets.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed by the airline\u2019s Chief Executive Cornell Muleya in Nairobi during the resumption of\u00a0flights\u00a0from Entebbe to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mulaya said the airline had identified\u00a0London, Dubai, Guangzhou and Mumbai\u00a0 for international flights outside Africa once the new planes are delivered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are\u00a0back to the skies\u00a0with big plans in the wake of Covid-19 disruptions and closure of our Entebbe hub that has lasted seven months.
