\nAfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi\u00a0has faulted DP William Ruto\u2019s growing habit of dishing out handouts to the youth.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi said what Ruto was doing amounts to robbing Kenyans with the left hand and giving handouts to the same people with the right.<\/p>\n

He called on the Government to compel\u00a0Ruto and others who are on a spending spree to state whether they have been submitting genuine returns to Kenya Revenue Authority.<\/p>\n

Speaking yesterday at a requiem mass of Khwisero politician Dickson Katibi at Ekambuli Primary School, he said leaders cannot continue robbing innocent Kenyans and deceiving the same people with handouts.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is time to gauge what is submitted to the taxman by these individuals and interrogate their huge spending in a poor economy like ours,\u201d said Mudavadi.<\/p>\n

He regretted that the country\u2019s debt had risen to Sh6.5 trillion, painting a grim future for its majority youth who are unfortunately, victims of the handouts culture.<\/p>\n

The Amani leader said his motivation to\u00a0succeed President Kenyatta\u00a0was informed by the fact the country needed a serious turnaround strategy and \u201cnot a rescue mission sort of arrangement that Ruto appears to have perfected\u201d. He said his focus was to have an empowered youth where the Government would \u201creview the tax regime to give youth a chance to prosper\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi reiterated that nothing would stop him from running for the higher office come 2022 even as some politicians have asked him to\u00a0back the DP: \u201cThose who think otherwise will be rudely shock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi said Mudavadi was best suited to succeed President Kenyatta because he had the wealth of experience and the zeal to steer the country to the next level.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, police had a rough time controlling rowdy youth who turned up for Mulembe Youth Movement event at Mbale in Vihiga county yesterday.<\/p>\n

The meeting, organised by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala failed to take off as earlier planned after police stopped the youth and Malala from accessing Idavaga Muslim Secondary School, the venue of the meeting.<\/p>\n

Anti-riot police blocked all entrances to the venue along the busy Kisumu – Kakamega highway with Malala opting to address hundreds of the youth at Mbale Market where he was later joined by\u00a0Mudavadi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
