Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong> <\/span>President William Ruto on Wednesday criticised opposition leaders, saying they lack a clear agenda for the youth and the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking at Garissa High School during the launch of the Nyota programme, the Head of State accused his rivals of offering criticism without solutions and challenged them to present concrete plans to address the challenges facing Kenyans.<\/p>\n

President Ruto told residents that the Nyota programme is important to him and that he personally designed it, unlike previous initiatives, which he said were poorly structured and had minimal impact.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are assuring you that I will continue to spend time figuring out how the young people of Kenya cannot be misused by planless, clueless politicians who only see our youths\u2019 tools of trade for their own political,\u201d said the President.<\/p>\n

He also criticised the opposition over what he described as dissatisfaction with his visit to the region, accusing them of pursuing a discriminatory agenda and pledging to change the region\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t argue with a fool, people might know the difference when we have an agenda, and program for this nation, we are going to rewrite the wrong history that was written before and correct historical injustice,\u201d said the President.<\/p>\n

He added that Kenya\u2019s young people deserve his personal attention and dismissed calls for him to delegate such matters.<\/p>\n

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki responded to recent remarks by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who accused the government of wasting public resources that should instead be directed to drought-stricken residents in Arid and Semi-Arid Land counties.<\/p>\n

Kindiki questioned Gachagua\u2019s moral authority to criticise the government on drought mitigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet him stop bringing politics into matters of drought because they do not understand anything about drought. They should look for something else to politicise,\u201d Kindiki said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was in government the other day. What has changed now? This government is focused on solving Kenyans\u2019 problems one by one, step by step, under President William Ruto\u2019s leadership. I want to tell youths of Kenya, we are going to empower you, we are going to give opportunities to empower you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The President was accompanied by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Garissa Governor Nathif Jama, Members of Parliament Dekow Mohamed (Garissa), Abdi Ali Abdi (Ijara) and Mohamed Abdikadir (Lagdera), Garissa Senator Abdul Haji, among other leaders.<\/p>\n

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale said President Ruto has restored the dignity of the region and ensured equal access to basic citizenship documents.<\/p>\n
