Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has emphasised fairness and accountability in the National Police Service.<\/p>\n

Masengeli told officers serving in all police formations and units across the country to be accountable for their actions. He said their operations must reflect fairness, equality and professionalism at all times.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we move forward, let\u2019s remain guided by our collective mission: a secure, safe, and stable Kenya where every citizen can live, work and thrive. Let this facility stand as a symbol of that vision; firm, reliable, and dedicated to service,\u201d Masengeli said.<\/p>\n

He spoke while presiding over the official commissioning of the Machakos Subcounty Administration Police office in Machakos county on Friday. The office was contracted by the National Constituency Development Fund.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this clarion call, let every post we man, office we open, and community we serve reflect one unwavering truth: our duty is to protect, serve, and uphold the dignity of all Kenyans,\u201d Masengeli said.<\/p>\n

Masengeli said the commissioning of the new offices strengthened police presence, availability, and commitment to serve Kenyans.<\/p>\n

He said the offices symbolise the National Police Service\u2019s resolve to take services to the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey enhance stability through coordination and create an enabling environment for our officers to perform their duties with professionalism, efficiency and dignity. Security is most effective when it\u2019s present, responsive, and trusted by communities it serves,\u201d Masengeli said.<\/p>\n

The police boss maintained that as a service, their mandate remains clear: to safeguard life and property, critical infrastructure, and support the National Administration to ensure stability across all regions.<\/p>\n

He said the newly commissioned facility would deliver through deployments, improved response, and stronger community engagements.<\/p>\n

Mesengeli said deployment alone wasn\u2019t enough; it must be merged with discipline and integrity.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause when officers are asleep, disasters stay awake. Decisions made must meet fairness, professionalism, and respect for human dignity. As an African proverb reminds us, a house is built by hands, but a home is built with hearts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we have built a house; it\u2019s now upon us, officers of the National Police Service and the community, to build the spirit and will defined by it,\u201d Masengeli said.<\/p>\n

He urged Machakos county residents to continue partnering with security agencies, stating that security is a shared responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour corporation, information sharing, trust, essentially enable us to suppress crime and maintain peace. Our partners and stakeholders, we appreciate your continued support,\u201d Masengeli said.<\/p>\n

The National Police Service in Kenya has faced challenges related to accountability and public trust over the years. Recent reforms aim to enhance professionalism and community engagement within the police force. The establishment of new police facilities, such as the one in Machakos, is part of a broader strategy to improve service delivery and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
