Speaking during the Dinner of the 19th Ambassadors Conference at Safari Park, Hussein steered the conversation beyond the pitch, underscoring football\u2019s unmatched ability to unite people across divides while shaping national identity and global perception.<\/p>\n

\u201cSports, particularly football, has evolved far beyond just competition. It has now become one of the strongest unifying forces in the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Drawing from Kenya\u2019s experience, he highlighted football\u2019s role as a social glue, noting that national team matches dissolve divisions and rally the country behind a shared cause.<\/p>\n

That unifying power, he stressed, is central to Kenya\u2019s hosting ambitions. “In Kenya, just like the rest of the world, football is not just a sport. It is a social cohesion tool, a platform for many youth to engage, and increasingly, a vehicle for national unity.<\/p>\n

“”When our national team is playing, all divisions fade. Kenyans become one people, rallying behind a common purpose as witnessed during the PAMOJA CHAN 2025.<\/p>\n

“Hussein revealed that FKF is deliberately crafting an Afcon 2027 tournament that extends into diplomacy and global engagement, with structured collaboration expected between Kenya and international partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see embassies not just as protocol stakeholders, but as very strategic partners,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

“We intend to create a landscape where all visiting nations feel not just at home, but actively engaged.<\/p>\n

This extends to curated cultural experiences, investment platforms, and bilateral engagements that take place alongside the tournament. “\u201cIn short, we want Afcon to be more than a football event. It needs to be a forum for diplomacy, cultural integration, and trade,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can no longer treat sports, especially football, as an extracurricular activity. Football must be integrated within national development frameworks,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
